INTRODUCTION
Hardwood Ski and Bike is one of Ontario’s premier full-service cross country ski facilities, with 40 km of meticulously groomed ski trails. Since 2009, Hardwood Ski and Bike has been recognized as the best cross country ski and mountain bike destination in Eastern Canada by the readers of Get Out There magazine.
WHY COME TO 2026 ONTARIO MASTERS?
The 2026 Ontario Masters promises to be a marquee event with such easy access for Ontario’s population of competitive skiers. We are specially designing course to make this fun racing for all level of skiers.
WHY HARDWOOD SKI AND BIKE?
Hardwood Ski and Bike is located 1 hour north of Toronto in the snow belt of Oro-Medonte. Average snowfall over the past 15 years has been 355 cm with a normal ski season of early December to the end of March.
All trails are groomed for classic and skating with dedicated state of the art Prinoth Bison and Husky grooming machines configured specifically for Nordic skiing. As well, there are smaller YTS Ginzu groomers that can be pulled with snowmobiles for grooming in low snow conditions.
Hardwood Ski and Bike has a long history of excellence in hosting first class cross country and mountain bike races. In 1993, the Canadian Master Championships in conjunction with the Canadian Senior Championships. In 2013, Hardwood hosted an Ontario Cup Race in early March. Hardwood has also hosted over 100 high school xc ski races over the years as well as the annual Fischer Loppet festival.

Friday March 6 – Ontario Masters
9:00 am – Trails open for pre-ski
10:00 am – Skier sign in and bib pickup
12:00 pm – 5/10km Classic races
2:00 to 4:00 pm – Awards, Snacks and Happy Hour. Cash bar.
Saturday March 7 – Hardwood Loppet/Ontario Masters
8:00 am – Trail Open and Skier sign in and bib pickup
9:15 am – 30km Classic Races (F1 to F8, M1 to M9)
9:20 am – 15km Classic Races (F9 and above, M10 and above)
9:40 am – 30km Skate Races (F1 to F8, M1 to M9)
9:45 am – 15km Skate Races (F9 and above, M10 and above)
1:00 pm – Hardwood Loppet Awards
6:00 pm – Ontario Masters Banquet and Awards. Cash Bar.
Sunday March 8 – Ontario Masters
7:30 am – Skier sign in and bib pickup
9:00 am – 5/10km Skate races
11:00 am – Awards and light lunch.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATIONS
Hardwood Ski and Bike is only 1hr from Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Pearson offers numerous vehicle rental options.
The Barrie/Orillia area surrounding Hardwood offers over 3,000 room options, with various hotels, Bnb’s and Airbnb. There are many full kitchen and apartment type rental options.

Banquet Meal Tickets are $40 per person. You may purchase extra tickets for friends/family.. Meal will include a vegetarian option. Awards ceremonies and banquet will offer a cash bar.
Racers will be offered hydration and light snacks after each race.

ONTARIO MASTERS ELIGIBILITY
All skiers in Ontario Masters Championships must be a current member of the Ontario Masters association. Click HERE to join the Ontario Masters association.
CANADIAN MASTERS RESULTS and PRIZES

Awards will be presented to the top 3 in each Ontario Masters category
HARDWOOD LOPPET PRIZES
All Hardwood Loppet prizes will be awarded in age separate categories open to all skiers.
Hardwood Loppet age groups are: Youth 5-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, and Adult 19 & under, 20-34, 35-49, 50-64, 65+
BANQUET
The Ontario Masters Banquet will follow awards on Saturday, with the meal being served by a local catering group. A vegetarian option will be available on request.
This is a fun time to catch up and celebrate with new and old friends.
MEDICAL
Medical support is provided by Hardwood Ski Patrol, including a full ski patrol medical room and supplies. Ski Patrol has access to 2 snowmobiles and medical tow sled.
Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie is 19 km from Hardwood, with ambulance response within 5 minutes.
